Game Night for Two: The Home Confinement Edition

Home confinement. Pandemic Isolation. Sheltering in Place. Social Distancing. Forced Staycation. Self-Quarantine. Whatever it is, your home. We’re home. We are all home. I hope. Stay there! We need to all be in this together for it to work, people!

So, anyways, now we are home. You get the point. The kids are in bed. The kitchen and house are a wreck, but I am letting it go. What to do, what to do!? Instead of jumping on your social media or ingesting a bunch of bad/terrible/no good/very sad news, why not break out the wine and play a game with your partner? Or, ya know, whoever lives in your house. We collectively have 6+ heartbeats in our tiny, tiny, little home. Eeeek.

Some of our favorite games to keep you entertained, connected and smiling – below!

Well, Pandemic was one of our favorite games to play until the last month or so. Now, it’s a little too real. Still a good game though, and can be played with just two players or more.

Sorry used to be one of my favorite games. Break it out now to remember how fun it is to knock someone else off the board! If you have more than 2 players, Sorry is still great but Dog Royal is a little more fun these days!

Traditional Code Names is one of my all time favorites to play against other couples or just a small group of friends, but you need 4 players. It’s kind of like Taboo… but… not. If you only have two, give the Code Names Duet a shot!

Monopoly is an amazing game to play throughout your entire life. Buy, sell, dream and scheme your way to riches, am I right? You learn it as a kid, and potentially master it as an adult. But, Friends themed Monopoly? Amazing idea. Could I BE any more excited?!

Chronology: Think you know which came first – the invention of mayonnaise or decaffeinated coffee? Lincoln’s Gettysburg address or John Deere’s first plow? Time to test your knowledge of invention and events.

There has literally never been a better time to brush off the ol’ wooden letters and brush up on your vocab with Scrabble. If you are into a little more speed, try Bananagrams (which is also an easy one to transport on family trips once we can all start moving around again!).

I am a sucker for a good old fashioned game like Clue! The ultimate “who done it” can be played with 2 or more players which is perfect for any night home! Don’t you remember how fun it is to find out Mrs. White did it in the Library with the….

I am super terrible at Trivia but love it just the same. “I should have known that!” is a game just for you, if you like this sorta thing too. Great for 2 players or more!
